Technical Highlights
Thermal Efficiency
The results consistently show that (unglazed) Bowater doors can achieve U-values as low as 0.8 W/m2K. This can help door customers to make savings on energy as well as reducing a property’s CO2 emissions.
68mm Double Rebated
A rebate is a channel, cut into the edge of the door that allows the ‘slab’ to fit tightly against the frame. Bowater’s double rebated composite door is a substantial 68mm thick slab. Being 54% thicker than a single rebate 44mm slab, it provides superior thermal weather, and acoustic properties by comparison. Secured by Design upgrades are available on Bowater’s 68mm double rebated doors.

Secured by Design is a UK Police Preferred Specification product accreditation scheme which aims to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to deter and reduce crime. The scheme supports Bowater Doors’ commitment to delivering doorsets that assure safety and security. SBD security upgrades can provide:

Door Colours
Bowater’s composite doors are available, as standard, in white, green, blue, black and red and our door frames are in white. However, our paint studio can supply door slabs and door frames in any RAL colour. Find out more here
